Happy Birthday to our daughter!

I am really having fun writing my latest book, the humor makes me laugh inside, like when I replay segments of my favorite shows in my mind ("Psych" and "The New Adventures of Old Christine") and so I'm smiling for no apparent reason... there is a reason, but it isn't apparent!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Names, names, names! Some characters are named after friends of mine, or people who had an impact on my life. One book has characters named after my former math teacher and my aunt and uncle, along with some of my friends from High School. Some character names just enter my mind and I (laugh and) write them in my little notebook so I won't forget them, like Beckworth Dolittle Bargmarjer and Rutherford Clancy and many other funny ones. I liked the way Dickens used character names in "Great Expectations," the one of his books I was able to read, and the one of his I love!

Where do I get my ideas? Many come from dreams, some just pop into my head, lots are experiences of mine. Oh, that I could just tell them all in truth, as a hilarious non-fiction book of my life! But fiction is better - you don't know that the most outrageous portions are the ones that really happened and the mediocre portions are the fictional ones! If you want the real truth, read the Bible.

Welcome to the Unread Blog! See the counter below? Those are all my views. No one reads this blog, no one reads my books, but guess what! I still love to write anyway! I will keep writing, because it's in me and it has to come out of me! I have always been a kind of solo person, and now my writing is just solo posted where the world can read it if they want - or not! It's kind of funny to think that anyone in the world can see this... and it's still me, just me, the same writer as I've always been. I love writing! I have tried dictating into a microphone, seems like an easy way to write, and the words just don't flow from me that way. I can tell a story to a person, but I can't tell a story to a microphone. Can you?
